Confession

Cleaning the bathroom is a relatively simple task, but I have the hardest time with it. I love having a clean bathroom. I hate cleaning the bathroom. Unfortunately I let it build up so it seems daunting. (That can also be said about other cleaning, but this blog is specific to the bathroom!) I was going to clean the bathroom last weekend. I even got so far as to wash the rugs. But I didn't follow through with the rest. Friday night I again started the task of cleaning the bathroom. After getting the tile walls of the bathtub clean, I was working on the tub, and the caulk starting coming off. I had some extra caulk, so I decided to go ahead and replace it. My hands are pretty sore from the scraping old stuff off. I got a razor blade out to help with the caulk removal, and realized that the tile walls I had just cleaned, were still covered with soap scum. Either I don't know how to clean, or I'm not using the right products. Either way it's frustrating. I think the best solution is to keep on the cleaning it so it doesn't build up. I did get the tub in pretty good shape, but spent so much time on it, that I have not been able to bring myself to finish the rest of the bathroom. Urgh. Maybe tonight.

Carrie - I LOVE a clean bathroom, too. Here's how I do it so it's not a chore:
Every morning when I'm done washing my face, I use the washcloth to wipe down the sink, counter and faucets. Then I wipe them dry with the hand towel.
Next I use a disinfectant wipe and wipe the cupboard handles and doorknob and light switch (I do this fast - 1 minute)
Then I use that same wipe and do the toilet and the floor around the toilet. Done in 5 minutes - clean bathroom every day!
The tub and floor get cleaned once a week.
Happy Cleaning!
Love you,
Aunt Mary
