My Roller Coaster This Week

  • We found out our sealing clearance paperwork got lost in the mail.  The Stake President wasn’t just taking his time setting up the appointment to meet with James, he hadn’t gotten the paperwork.  Urgh.  FORTUNATELY the Bishop kept copies of everything, so we don’t have to start over.  We now know that the Stake President has the paperwork (and he is just taking his time setting up the appointment to meet with James)!
  • Jury duty next week.  I figure it I could show up for jury duty the week prior to testifying in a murder trial, that I definitely have the strength to do it now.  It’s been a while since I’ve been to the courthouse though… lots of memories.  Is there ever a good time to revisit tragic life events?
  • More drama with the ex-wife.  She’s taken the kids out of school.  We are not sure what her plan is, but it could be anything.
  • I set up some basketball brackets to humor my brother.  I have never done it before, and obviously chose too many upsets.  I am in last place.  It’s kind of embarrassing.  On the flip side, I have been playing the game ‘Clue” online with some family and friends.  I did just WIN this last game.
  • Speaking of embarrassing… I need to figure out what to do with those weeds in the yard.  It’s not pretty.
  • I have a sensitivity to multi-vitamins.  I'm not sure if it's the brand, or what exactly.  Some make me throw up all the time, others just sometimes.  I think it may be related to what I do or do not eat with it.  Not very fun.  It can be a little awkward if I take them at work.  In the meantime, I’m not sure I want to keep spending money just to try one or two multi-vitamins from the bottle and then throw it away.
  • Ants in the bathroom.  Why they are choosing the bathroom over the kitchen this year is unclear, but it’s summer and they are back!
  • Census Bureau has offered early retirements and buy outs.  It’s sad to say good-bye to so many coworkers.  We still don’t have enough people retiring to avoid lay-offs all together, but at least there is a better chance that I will get to keep my job.
  • I love serving in the church, but my two church callings are definitely keeping me busy right now.
  • James is done teaching in Fredericksburg during the week.  So, I am getting to spend more time with him! We went swimming last night.  It was so good to exercise and relax (both).
  • And then there’s a few things going on with wedding plans!  So exciting, but a little stressful as well.
I am very happy for the life I have and the every day reminders of how important it is to find balance and turn to the Lord, (and even others when needed)!

I hope the clearance goes through soon and I hope everything else goes well. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Carrie! Jury duty sounds interesting, but testifying doesn't sound fun at all. Good luck next week. Looking forward to seeing you in June.
