They say the only thing certain in life is death. I attended services for Brother Gladden last Thursday and the graveside service for Alpha Sillex today. I am glad that they both lived long, full lives, even though it is still difficult for those who remain behind. I must say that the timing for both of them was pretty interesting. Alpha passed away on her (87th) Birthday. Joe Gladden lived with the Seyoum family for a number of years, and loved those boys like family. He passed away right before Matthew went on his mission, and speculation was that this was how he would be able to accompany him!

Sorry for the loss of your loved ones. Hopefully that is a comfort about being mission comps!
You are right on the irony of timing sometimes. Earlier this year, I worked w/a lady who was turning 90. Her family was planning a special party for her- she had even invited me to the party though I couldn't go. She had a great party, but within a week of that birthday she had taken a bad turn and passed away. I really think she held on for that birthday.
