Opera in the Outfield

Here Heidi and I are at "Opera in the Outfield: A Live Simulcast of Verdi's La Traviata at Nationals Park". It was a fun evening. It was a free performance, broadcast from the Kennedy Center. It was an interesting combination trying to mix opera at the baseball stadium. I got a kick of the "7th Aria Stretch", rather than the traditional 7th inning stretch. They opened up the outfield for people with chairs or blankets, but overall the stadium was pretty empty. The costumes, set, singing, etc. were all fabulous, and it was fun to run into various friends at the stadium or on the Metro. I don't attend opera very often, but I might have to keep this in mind for next year!

This sounds like fun...what a great way to see an opera.

I might even go to an opera like that, the free part sounds good!
