Jack Alexander Johanson

My nephew Jack is one week old today. He was born on November 18, but unfortunately has had several problems and is not doing very well. There have been lots of prayers in behalf of his family. He was born in a hospital in Ames and was quickly transferred to Des Moines. This weekend he was moved to Iowa City, to take advantage of some of the special equipment they have there. Elizabeth has some updates about Jack and their family on her blog.

One of my favorite updates to get was that "
The doctors and the nurses LOVE Jack. Several nurses have requested to work only with him, and even some who are over other little children sneak in throughout the day to work with him. Probably it's just because he is so sweet and so cute, but possibly also because there is a wonderful spirit in little Jack's room."

My prayers go out to my brother and sister-in-law and Jack and his older sister Megan. There is no way to take away the emotions that they are going through at this time. They love their little guy so much, and they are learning so much at this time. They do have some family with them right now and are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.

Hmm.. The Ronald McDonald site has it wrong then. I've updated the blog with the correct zip! Thanks for catching that.
