How Sound Travels

Friday Keli and I went to the Radio and Television Museum in Bowie, MD. It was like a science lesson, history lesson, culture lesson, and trip down memory lane rolled all into one. We learned about the early radio technology, homemade crystal radios with Quaker oat boxes, the history of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) and the "nipper dog", radios that were intentionally made to only pick up the one station of the sponsoring radio station, a demonstration of the props used to make some of the radio shows, the 1939 radio/fax technology that never really caught on, and of course plenty of radios and televisions through the ages. The 1929 combination radio and phonograph encased to look like a mini-grand piano was fun. I thought of Todd a lot. He collected many old time radio broadcasts.
