Relief!

In the criminal case of the Commonwealth of Virginia vs. John Bloxham, John has been found guilty of Murder in the First degree. The jury has recommended a sentence of 35 years. Final sentencing will be set by the judge on May 16. The judge cannot sentence above a jury recommendation, but can go below or suspend part of the sentence.

The court systems are set up to protect the innocent, so I feel very fortunate that the prosecution was able to gather enough evidence to convince the jury 'beyond a reasonable doubt' that he was indeed guilty.

There is so much to say, so look for additional posts on Thank Yous, News Articles, Testifying, Sentencing, Case Details, Impact Statements, and Devin. I am putting them all under 3/14/08 so they will all be organized together.
