About Last Week

Just a few highlights from the week. See my Picasa site for some pictures.

  • Had a great visiting teaching visit - before the end of the month! Our ward has changed our focus, and a small group meets for one visit a month, rather than multiple visits with your companion and each person you visit. Your group is also the people who visit you, so it really is wrapped up all into one. It's only been a month, but so far I have heard good reports.
  • Got dryer fixed - yeah!
  • Wednesday night the Young Women in our ward had a Career Fair. I joined about 10 other women in sharing why our job is the best!
  • Saturday afternoon I had a fun time outside at the National Kite Festival, downtown DC.
  • Saturday night we had a surprise 50th Birthday Party for Nancy Nielsen. It's so great when it really is a surprise!
  • Sunday I had the Primary sharing time for the youngest kids (ages 3-7). I stressed over it for a while, and came up with lots of cute ideas, but settled for something EASY - I just had the kids look in some old Ensign magazines for pictures of Christ, cut them out, and put them on a piece of paper. I didn't even have time for the second part, in which I was planning on having them find a picture of a way we can learn about Jesus Christ.
  • Sunday night I had a great get together with some friends from when I first moved into the area. We had a great variety of food with the pot luck. It was fun to have 5 cute little kids in the house!

We did our VT like that in Provo. Let me know how you like it, because I was telling my RS Pres. about it. I don't remember how it worked out when we did it.

Thanks for the week update. I love reading about what's going on in the life of family. It makes me feel much more in touch!
