Laie Hawaii Temple

One of my favorite experiences in Hawaii was going to the temple. It’s always great to go to the House of the Lord. The experience always similar, but new places help give a new perspective and appreciation for the teachings there.

The Laie Hawaii temple was the first LDS temple built outside of the continental US, in 1919, and the area has become a gathering place for church members across the Pacific. At the temple Visitors Center they get a fair number of tourists, so they have an "Asian Theater" where they give an introduction about our belief in God as the creator as an overview for people who may not even know much about God or Jesus Christ. There is of course exhibits about Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and modern day prophets, similar to other LDS Visitor’s Centers around the world.
