Mokuauia, or Goat Island

I loved Hawaii, but I must say that I did have a difficult time with some of the pronunciation! I should have studied some before we got there, to learn how to pronounce the names of the places we went! See this online pronunciation guide!

One of the first places our group explored was close to home. There was an island that we walked to from the house. We had checked the tides in advance, and waded out in water out to Goat Island. It was a little difficult walking over the coral reefs with tides come in from two different directions, but it wasn't too bad. (I only fell down a few times!) It was a fun island to explore, with some great views and awesome waves. The island is not very big, but features beaches, reefs, and a bird sanctuary.
