Polynesian Cultural Center

One of the big attractions on Oahu is the Polynesian Cultural Center. It’s almost like Disneyland. They have areas where you can learn about Hawaii, Samoa, Maori New Zealand (Aotearoa), Fiji, Tahiti, the Marquesas and Tonga. They have cultural presentations with dancing, music, cooking, fishing, and other local traditions. There was a canoe “pageant” where they came by and danced on canoes. We watched an IMAX movie on coral reefs. We were given a shell necklace when we arrived, and a live flower lei for dinner latter that evening. We got some temporary tattoos to commemorate the occasion. Dinner was a tasty luau, with lots of traditional Hawaiin foods. That evening we enjoyed a dinner show with a lot of music, dancing, and even some fire tricks. It was a really fun and full day! Here I am, and then the second picture is of Melissa, Tiffanie, Courtney, Katie, and Maren and Jen across the row. I was particularly happy to see some of the Elvis memorabilia at the "PCC"! :-)
